February 15, 2012 - NEW LAWN INSTALLATION - Which method is best?  If you are searching for a landscaper to install a new lawn or repair your current lawn, you have three options to complete the task:  seed, sod, or hydroseed.

  • Seed - initially the least expensive of all the methods but requires a great deal of time and is very susceptible to mother nature.  Heavy rains can wash away your seed, birds can decide to setup camp on your front lawn and have a feast, and the sun can quickly dry out your seeds.
  • Sod - instant lawn but is the most expensive method.  May require a great deal of watering.  Good for small areas.
  • Hydroseeding -  economical, easy to care for, weed free, and resilient.  Seed, water, fertilizer and a fiber material are mixed together in a tank and then sprayed onto a prepared lawn using a hose.  New lawn growth is quick and healthy.  Excellent for large areas and hillside lawns.

February 1, 2012 - WATER IN YOUR BASEMENT? With the great thaw happening outside, make sure your basement walls are dry inside. If you are noticing wet walls, then it is time to take a look at the grading of your property. Poor Grading leads to drainage issues which can cause significant damage to your home and property. Envirocon has equipment for both large and small grading projects. So whether you are repairing a current situation or grading for a new home, give us call.

January 25, 2012 - SNOW HAULING - Is snow piling up in your commercial lot?  Envirocon's snow removal services go beyond plowing and ice removal.  Envirocon has the equipment capable of hauling snow away in order to keep the traffic in your commercial parking lot running smoothly.  Big piles of snow means less parking, more traffic issues and the potential for accidents.  Keep your customers happy by keeping your lot safe and free of snow and ice.

January 9, 2012 - Landscape companies come and go annually, consequently it is imperative that as a consumer you need to research your potential landscaper for your upcoming project. Envirocon is a member of the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association (WLCA) and the WLCA recommends that a consumer should ask the following questions when choosing a landscaper.

  1. Is the contractor insured?
  2. Does the contractor have references?
  3. Do they require a contract?
  4. Is the contractor a member of any business organizations such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB)?
  5. What certifications or licenses are necessary and does the contractor carry them?

January 1, 2012 -We at Envirocon would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. What an interesting winter it has been. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted a colder and snowier winter season for 2011-2012, but it has been anything but that. Temperatures this morning were a bit chilly at 7 degrees, but looks like another warmup this weekend. If you are a snow lover, check out Alpine Valley Ski Resort in East Troy. They have done a tremendous job in bringing winter to Wisconsin.
